Friends Blend

Our First On-Line Store Signature Blend

Mike, our on-line store manager, invited 15 friends and family members to our roaster's plant for a cupping -- the time-honored traditional practice of observing tastes and aromas of brewed coffee.

The objective was to create the 1st signature blend for www.LongfellowsCoffee.com.

The group assessed various aspects of bean and roast combinations -- e.g., body (mouth feel), sweetness, acidity, flavors. The consummate cup evolved from a combination of 50% Guatemalan, 25% Ethiopian, and 25% Colombian beans, roasted slightly to the dark side of Vienna-style.

This highly-satisfying brew's characteristics include balanced, sweet taste with floral notes in the middle and a lingering finish of cherry. Mike decided on "Friends Blend" as a fitting name in salute to those who created it, and you friends of our Web site who will enjoy this signature sip.
